Sims 3 romantic interest?

i have a female sim who is flirty, and she lives with a male sim (giovanni thomson). they are romantic interests to each other, but how do i get them to be bf/gf? i've done all the romantic actions and stuff and they even have a child, but i can't get them to get married! they are both adults and single
