Yahoo is my home page. Internet explorer my brower and I keep getting "redirect"?

I can actually watch the address bar as its going through the addresses and then go to "redirect" and open a page of big type font choices and sometimes it has absolutely nothing to do with what I was searching for. What is causing this and how do I fix it for free? Someone said it was malware.
